The SPATE 11th Anniversary Event on this coming weekend Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th December 2011
will start from 10am with the installation of the Sea of Hands and all hands are welcome to assist.
 
Celebrations on Saturday morning will include kid-friendly activities including an art workshop with Uncle Kevin Butler, a Boomerang throwing display and a performance from the Little Narguns, setting the stage for a welcome ceremony and BBQ lunch.

A three day festival of music, dance and ceremony is planned at Sandon Point this weekend.  It will mark the 10th anniversary of the Sandon Point Aboriginal Tent Embassy. 

Christine Anu will head more than 30 bands and entertainers Friday to Sunday at McCauleys Beach.

Sacred smoking ceremonies will expunge the evil spirits and celebrate decades of united action between the Aboriginal and white communities of the Illawarra.

BYO sleeping bag, water, food and wood.

Finds raised directed to the Sandon Point legal case

Rally co-organizer Karen Gough said: Over 200 people today attended a public rally called by the Sandon Point Aboriginal Tent Embassy (SPATE) in protest against an approved residential development project at “McCauley’s Beach”, just north of Sandon Point.
