Community Bike Ride Sandon Pt to Bellambi Pt
A Sandon Point to Bellambi Point Bike Ride will be held on Sunday 28th August, starting at the Sandon Point Aboriginal Tent Embassy at 10am.
This family event intended to bring together the broad local community and Local Government Candidates to show respect for Aboriginal Culture across the Illawarra.
Community are invited to come out and support the key importance of recognition of Aboriginal rights as Traditional Owners of the Illawarra in all aspects of Wollongong City Council business, particularly planning.
Meet at Sandon Point Aboriginal Tent Embassy (SPATE, McCauleys Beach) on Sunday 28th August at 10am.
At 10.30am, after a short welcome to SPATE, Ride (or walk) to Bellambi Point where we will have a picnic and BBQ lunch.
From 12pm at Bellambi Point hear from Candidates for the Ward One and Mayoral elections who have been invited to make short statements about their policies on Aboriginal Rights and protection of Aboriginal Cultural Heritage places including Sandon Point and Bellambi Point.
